MOSCOW, Idaho – The Western Washington University multis crew made their indoor season debut at the Lauren McCluskey Memorial Thursday and Friday inside the Kibbie Dome.
 
Senior Nicole Avery led the group of five student-athletes in action, placing 7th out of 19 competitors with a career-best 3,049 points in the five-event pentathlon. Competing close to her hometown of Pullman just across the Idaho-Washington border, Avery maintained her No. 6 spot in the WWU indoor record book bettering her previous career-high 2,972 points set last season at the UW Invite.
 
Avery had her best performance in the long jump finishing 3rd, setting an indoor PR with a leap of 5.56m/18-3 to rank 7th-best in program history. She also set a PR in the shot put with a throw of 9.95m/32-7.75.
 
Freshmen Marisa Klaas (11th, 2,740 points) and Khloe Huskic (12th, 2,645 points) made their collegiate multis debut. Klass' point total enters the WWU indoor record book in the No. 10 spot. Junior Karma Walker did not received a score competing in two of the five events.
 
Sophomore Kaden Miller competed in the two-day, seven-event men's heptathlon placing 8th out of 11 competitors with 3,800 points. Miller set personal-best marks in the 60m (7.55), 60m hurdles (8.80) and shot put (8.79m/28-10.25). He was primed to break his PR of 4,393 points but did not clear the bar in the pole vault competition opening at 3.70m/12-1.50.
  The Vikings are back in action next week competing January 30-31 with the UW Invite and Mile City at Dempsey Indoor. Links to follow results from all competitions are listed on the 2025-26 schedule at WWUVikings.com.
