BELLINGHAM, Wash. – The Western Washington University men's soccer team scored a season-high four goals in its 4-1 non-conference victory over the University of Jamestown Saturday afternoon at Harrington Field.

WWU received goals from Jose Perez (18'), Tommy Carroll (44'), Julian Herring (73') and Landon Schulze (79').

The Vikings took the lead at the 18-minute mark in the first half when Perez connected on a low line drive shot that skipped off the turf from 19-yards into the back of the net for his third goal of the season.

Sophomore forward Tommy Carroll put the Viking up 2-0 with less than two minutes remaining in the first half corralling a blocked shot off the foot of freshman defender Zander Morris, sneaking his right-footed shot into the bottom right corner of the goal.

With 19 seconds remaining in the first half, Jamestown got on the scoreboard when Saif Ghodhbani slotted a penalty shot into the lower left corner for his first goal of the season.

The Jimmies (1-9-4) had a few early second-half chances to equalizer, hitting the post in the 59th minute on a shot by Jack Greenwood and forcing a Quinn Sappington save off a shot from Justin Junaid.

The Vikings played add-on in the final 20 minutes of the game, with Herring scoring his first career goal in the 73rd minute with a strong left-footed shot. Schulze put the game away in the 79th minute with a solo effort on his team-leading seventh goal of the season, intercepting a pass and placing his right-footed shot inside the far post.

Sappington made his 10th start between the pipes for the Vikings, making five saves on the Jimmies six shots on goal. WWU held a 22-12 advantage in total shots, and edged Jamestown 7-6 in shots on goal.
