BELLINGHAM, Wash. – The Western Washington University volleyball team dropped its GNAC home match vs. No. 25 nationally ranked Seattle Pacific University in straight sets Thursday evening on WECU Court in Carver Gym.
The Falcons defeated the Vikings 25-19, 25-20, 25-21 to open the penultimate week of the 2026 season. WWU dropped to 11-10 overall and 8-7 in conference play with the loss to SPU. The No. 25 Falcons improved to 17-6 overall and remains in second place in the GNAC standings at 12-3 in league play.
WWU was led by eight kills each by senior Delaney Speer and freshman Jasmine Terry. Senior middle Emily Vossenkuhl and freshman opposite Quinn Pedersen both tallied five kills while leading the Vikings in blocks with five and three respectively. Speer and setters Maya Quitiquit and Caroline Hansen all recorded a pair of service aces. Senior libero Finnley Claeys led all players with 22 digs.
SPU featured a balanced offense with Megan Omlid (21 digs), Amaya Evans and Maiya Lester all contributing 11 kills. Setter Peyton Ensign ran the offense with 35 assists.
The Vikings close out the home portion of their schedule Saturday with a 5 pm match vs. Montana State Billings, with Senior Night taking center stage. The senior class of Delaney Speer, Emily Vossenkuhl, Caroline Hansen and Finnley Claeys will be celebrated prior to the start of the match.
