ALAMEDA, Calif. – Western Washington University junior Conrad Brown continued his stellar 2025-26 season earning runner-up honors at the Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout played Monday-Tuesday at Corica Park Golf Course.

 

Brown turned in a tournament score of 9-under-par 207 over the three rounds and 54 holes of the Pioneer Shootout, placed second one stroke behind winner Tucker Sweeney of Santa Clara. Brown was the top NCAA DII finisher at the tournament that featured 18 teams.

 

The Burlington native fired rounds of 69 (-3), 70 (-2) and a final round 68 (-4) for another impressive tournament finish. The GNAC leader in scoring average has recorded six top 10 finishes in seven tournaments, including winning the Otter Invitational in the fall.

 

The No. 14 nationally ranked Vikings turned in an uncharacteristic 11th-place finish in the 18-team tournament with score of 11-over-par 875. WWU was coming off a runner-up finish at the Visit Stockton Regional Preview and was in the top three in all previous six tournaments in 2025-26.

 

Senior captain Peter Dionne-Yahr tied for 41st (+3, 219) and junior Rex Wilson tied for 63rd place (+7, 223).

 

Tournament host Cal State East Bay earned a three-stroke victory over Colorado Christian for the team title, firing a 15-under-par 849 over the 54-hole tournament. Cal State San Bernardino (-10, 854), Simon Fraser (-5, 859) and Hawai'i Hilo (-2, 862) rounded out the top five.

The Vikings have one regular season tournament remaining on the schedule make the annual trek to Turlock, California to play in the Hanny Stanislaus Invitational April 13-14.
