BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Western Washington University junior
Conrad Brown has earned the GNAC Golfer of the Week award following his runner-up performance at the Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout.
Brown (Burlington, WA) was the top NCAA Division II finisher at the two-day, 54-hole tournament held at Corica Park in Alameda, California. The junior finished with a tournament score of 9-under-par 207 turning in rounds of 69 (-3), 70 (-2) and 68 (-4) to place 2nd in the 102-player field. Brown finished with a 4-under-par 68 in the final round, one stroke behind winner Tucker Sweeney of Santa Clara.
Brown totaled 13 birdies in the tournament, including five in his stellar final round. The runner-up finish lowered his season scoring average to 70.6 to move him into the lead in the GNAC.
The award is the fourth of Brown's career and second this season, tying for sixth-most in program history.
