BELLINGHAM, Wash. – The Western Washington University softball program had seven student-athletes earn a spot on the 2026 GNAC All-Academic Team presented by Barnes & Noble College.
The seven award winners were led by repeat winners senior Olivia Matlock and juniors Maleah Andrews, Laila Carpenter and Rachel Traxler. Sophomores Haylee Kim, Evalyn Massena and Emily McCutcheon earned GNAC academic honors in their first year eligible.
Matlock carries a perfect 4.00 GPA while nearing her degree in Elementary Education. The senior starting first baseman also earned GNAC academic honors as a sophomore at Saint Martin's in 2024.
WWU's seven selections were among 64 softball student-athletes earning a spot on the all-academic team for the 2026 season.
To qualify for academic all-conference, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20, must be in at least their second season competing for their team and must have competed on the course during the 2025 campaign. First-year freshman, redshirt freshman and first-year transfers are not eligible for the academic all-conference team.
