COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho – Through the first round of the 2026 GNAC Women's Golf Championships the Western Washington University Vikings are tied for 2nd place.

 

WWU shot a team round of 21-over-par 309 on the par 72, 5,802-yard layout. The Vikings are tied with Saint Martin's and Montana State Billings in the six-team tournament vying for the GNAC title, with all three trailing leader Simon Fraser by six strokes (+15, 303).

 

Senior Lauren F. Lee leads the Vikings and is in 2nd place in the 29-player field after shooting an even-par 72 in the first round. The GNAC scoring average leader recorded five birdies in her round, including four over her last seven holes, to turn in her ninth round at or under par this season.

 

Senior Kasey Maralack and freshman Carly Ikei are tied for 13th place at 6-over-par following opening-round scores of 78. 

 

Kelsie Inouye of Saint Martin's holds the first-round lead of the tournament with a 2-under-par 70.

 

Tuesday's second round features tee times beginning at 8:58 am from hole No. 1.

 

In its 15th year as a championship, the 2026 tournament is the first time to be played at 54 holes, with 18 holes each day. The winner of the championship event receives an automatic berth to the NCAA II West Regional Championships held May 4-6 at Pueblo Country Club in Pueblo, Colorado.
