COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho – The Western Washington University men's golf team grew its lead at the 2026 GNAC Golf Championships and will head into Wednesday's final round with a 12-stroke lead while vying for its 12th conference title.

 

WWU shot a team round of 5-under-par 279 on Tuesday, backing up Monday's opening 10-under-par 274 that was one stroke off the tournament single round record. The Vikings are at 15-under-par 553 heading into the final round Wednesday that features a tee times beginning at 7:52 am on hole No. 10.

 

Junior Nick Ennis led the Vikings in the second round with a 3-under-par 68 featuring five birdies and is in 8th place at even-par 142. Juniors Rex Wilson and Conrad Brown both shot 2-under-par 69 on Tuesday to move up the leaderboard with Wilson tied for 4th (-3) and Brown in 7th place (-1). Junior Christopher Zamani is also tied for 4th place in the 25-player field at 3-under-par 139 (66-73).

 

Western is 12 strokes ahead of second place Saint Martin's (-3, 565), with Montana State Billings (+9, 577) and defending champion Simon Fraser (+12, 580) in third and fourth place.

 

The Vikings entered the postseason listed No. 1 in the NCAA West Region rankings and No. 25 in the nation via the Clippd national rankings. The winner of the GNAC Championships receives an automatic berth to the NCAA II West/South Central Super Regional held May 7-9 at The Reserve at Spanos Park in Stockton, California. WWU has made 26 consecutive trips to the NCAA Tournament.
