BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Western Washington University senior
Lauren F. Lee has been selected to play in the 2026 NCAA Division II Women's Golf Championship competing as an individual for the second consecutive season.
Lee was one of six individuals to earn a spot in the regional championship that will take place May 4-6 at Pueblo Country Club in Pueblo, Colorado. The senior from Pleasanton, California will be part of 96-player field, with 18 teams and six individuals.
WWU narrowly missed a spot in the 18-team regional championship field after having a successful 2025-26 season. The end-of-season Clippd rankings listed the Vikings ranked No. 19 in the region and No. 60 in the nation. The Vikings placed 3rd at the GNAC Championships last week with Lee tying for 6th place.
Lee heads into the postseason ranked No. 8 in the West Region and No. 29 in the nation, boasting a season scoring average of 74.0 (+2 to par) with nine rounds of par-or-better, five top 10 finishes (in 9 events) and two first-place finishes.
Last season Lee also competed as an individual in the West Regional tournament in Amarillo, Texas, making history by tying for 8th place at 8-over-par 219, playing the final 36 holes at 5-under-par to earn a spot in the national championships. At the national tournament in Boulder City, Nevada, Lee gathered honorable mention All-America honors by tying for 4th place in the 102-player field at 8-under-par 208 (70-69-69). Lee's tie for 4th was the best individual performance by a Viking at the national championship, narrowly beating the 5th-place finish by All-American and WWU Hall of Famer Katja Trygg in 2006.
Lee played at Pueblo Country Club earlier this season at the DII Regional Preview, tying for 12th place at 9-over-par 151 (74-77).
