HAYWARD, Calif. - The Western Washington University Softball team opens the NCAA Tournament Thursday facing No. 2 seed and sub-regional host Cal State East Bay with first pitch scheduled for noon.

WWU enters the regional as the No. 7 seed in the West Region after winning its third consecutive GNAC Tournament title. This marks the Vikings third consecutive trip to the NCAA postseason and fourth in the last six years.
The Vikings are 34-20 overall heading into the game against the Pioneers, marking a rematch of the 2025 regional with Western going 2-0 against CSUEB on its home field.
The winner of the WWU-CSUEB game will advance to the winner's bracket playing the winner of the No. 3 Concordia Irvine vs. No. 6 Biola game, at 10 am on Friday. The first elimination game will be held on Friday at 12:30 pm.
