PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. – Western Washington University senior
Lauren F. Lee wrapped up her All-American collegiate career earning a top 30 finish at the 2026 NCAA Division II National Championship at PGA National.
Lee battled a tough course layout that features the famous Bear Trap, varying weather conditions and early tee times to shoot a three-round score of 12-over-par 228 to tie for 26th place in the national field. She opened the tournament Monday with a 4-over-par 76, shot a 5-over-par 77 in Tuesday's second round and saved her best round of the 54-hole tournament for Wednesday with a 3-over-par 75.
The senior ended her collegiate career with birdies on her final two holes to solidify her top 30 finish. Last year Lee also qualified for nationals as an individual, tying for 4th place to earn All-America honors.
"This final championship was a reflection of so many of Lauren's tournaments during her time at WWU. She was tested from the very beginning, yet showed incredible grit, composure, and patience throughout the week," said WWU Director of Golf
Luke Bennett. "Lauren executed countless spectacular shots and was ultimately rewarded for her perseverance, finishing her final two holes birdie-birdie — a fitting ending to an outstanding National Championship and a historic career at WWU. It has been an honor to coach Lauren over the past three years, and she has left a lasting mark on women's golf at Western Washington University."
Lee's senior season was highlighted not only by competing at nationals for the second consecutive season, but also by winning the GNAC Player of the Year award and finishing in the top 10 in six of her 11 tournaments.
Amely Bochaton of Wingate ran away with the individual national title finishing at 13-under-par 203 for a 13-stroke victory over Taylor Wilczek of St. Mary's (TX). Wingate, Dallas Baptist, St. Marys, Findlay, Anderson, Cal State San Marcos, Tampa and Missouri-St. Louis finished in the top eight to qualify for the match play portion of the tournament where the national champion will be decided.
