STOCKTON, Calif. – The Western Washington University men's golf team continued its historic season winning the NCAA Division II West/South Central Super Regional topping the 20-team field during the three-day tournament at The Reserve at Spanos Park.
The Vikings captured their second regional title while playing in NCAA Championships for the 27th consecutive season. WWU also won the regional trophy in 2005 and tied for the top spot in in 2023. The Vikings advance to play in the NCAA II National Championship that will be held May 18-22 at Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nevada outside of Las Vegas. Western last played at the National Championship in 2023 placing 15th in Warren, Ohio.
WWU held the team lead throughout the 54-hole tournament, entering the final round tied with West Texas A&M for the top spot. The Vikings played steady golf in the final round finishing at 8-under-par 856 for a three-stroke victory over WTAMU. In addition to WWU and West Texas A&M, Cal State East Bay (3rd), Colorado Christian and Cal State San Marcos (tied for 4th) and Cal State San Bernardino (6th) punched tickets to nationals in Nevada.
The Vikings were led by a winning performance from junior Conrad Brown to become the third Viking to win the individual regional title, joining Kyle Schrader in 2013 and Tim Feenstra in 2005. The GNAC Player of the Year shot under-par rounds each day at the tournament, opening with a 2-under-par 70, setting the tone with a 6-under-par 66 in the second round and clinching the victory with a 2-under-par 70 in the final round. Brown earned a one-stroke victory at 10-under-par 206, edging Liam Weaver of Cal State San Marcos. The finish marked Brown's ninth top-10 finish in 10 tournaments during the 2025-26 season and second victory.
Senior captain Peter Dionne-Yahr tied for 28th place (+1, 217) highlighted by a second-round 5-under-par 67, junior Rex Wilson tied for 42nd (+3, 219), junior Christopher Zamani was in the top 50 in the 108-player field (+4, 220) and junior Nick Ennis tied for 60th (+6, 222).
