BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Western Washington University senior
Conrad Brown started the 2026-27 season earning the GNAC Men's Golf Player of the Week award.
Brown (Burlington, WA/Burlington-Edison HS) was the top GNAC performer at the season-opening Bishop Invitational, tying for 5th place in the 83-player field at The Home Course in DuPont. Brown finished the two-round, 36-hole tournament (shortened by rain) at 2-under-par 142 with rounds of 2-under-par 70 and even-par 72. WWU finished 4th out of 15 teams to open the season and is ranked as the first team receiving votes outside the national top 25 in the Bushnell/Golfweek DII Coaches Poll.
"Conrad had a strong tournament despite slow starts in each of his rounds," said WWU Director of Golf
Steve Card. "Playing his last 10 holes at 5-under-par in very difficult conditions in the first round was some incredible golf. He showed a lot of resilience in Round 2 to shoot even-par."
The GNAC Player of the Week award was the sixth of his career, tying him for fourth-most in program history. As a junior in 2025-26, Brown was selected a First Team PING All-American, a finalist for the Jack Nicklaus National Player of the Year award, won individual medalist honors at the NCAA II West/South Central Super Regional, was the GNAC Player of the Year and was the co-WWU Male Athlete of the Year.
Brown and the Vikings are currently hosting the
WWU Invitational, with the 54-hole tournament played Monday and Tuesday at Bellingham Golf & Country Club.
