His father, Jim, was All-America wide receiver at Walla Walla CC, University of Nevada-Las Vegas and San Diego State University, and played 14 seasons professionally, mostly in Canada with B.C. Lions and Edmonton Eskimos, and is currently in his sixth year as head football coach and director of athletics at Lummi High School.
