Andrew Forhan enters his second year serving as sports information assistant at Western Washington University in 2017-18. He started his position Sept. 1, 2016.
Prior to joining the WWU Athletics Department, Forhan served two years as assistant sports information director at Whitworth University in Spokane. His efforts provided support and promotion to each of the 18 varsity athletics programs at Whitworth. He worked heavily with the track and field, baseball, women's soccer and men's soccer programs.
Forhan graduated from Whitworth in 2014 with a bachelor of arts degree in journalism and mass communication before obtaining a master of arts degree in administrative leadership from Whitworth in 2016.
Forhan worked for The Associated Press Regional College Sports Desk in Spokane during his senior year of undergraduate study, editing and writing NCAA Division I football and basketball copy. He also worked for Whitworth Sports Information as an undergraduate student and has served as a sports information assistant for the Bellingham Bells, a summer collegiate baseball team in the West Coast League. He was a sports writer and sports editor for The Whitworthian, Whitworth's award-winning student newspaper, before serving as the editor-in-chief during his senior year.
Forhan is a native of Bellingham and 2010 graduate of Squalicum High School.
