In his second year as the strength and conditioning coach for the Vikings 15 varsity sport programs...was a graduate assistant for strength and conditioning from 2014-16...also a volunteer assistant Track & Field coach with the throwing program...is a National Strength and Conditioning Association Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), and holds a Strength and Conditioning certification from the USTFCCCA, Sports Performance Coach certification from USA Weightlifting, and a Level 1 coaching certification from USA Track and Field...helps supervise, design and implement physical preparation programs for WWU's athletic programs...in addition to hands-on supervision and technique instruction, he works closely with coaches, athletic trainers and student-athletes to develop programs that match the needs of each sport and each individual athlete as well as assisting with weight room facility management.
WWU: Was a member of the WWU Basketball (2011-13) and Track & Field (2012-14) teams as a student-athlete...with the basketball team came off the bench during the 2012 NCAA II National Championship season...two-time practice player of the year...with the T&F program was part of teams that won five GNAC Championships (3x outdoor, 2x indoor)...qualified for the conference meet in discus (2x), shotput and javelin...graduated cum laude in 2014 with a degree in kinesiology...received his Master's in exercise science in 2016.
PERSONAL: Graduate of Fife High School where he competed in basketball and Track & Field...played two years of basketball at Centralia College prior to arriving at WWU...competes professionally in Highland Games throwing events...completed a Strength & Conditioning internship at Texas Christian University in 2013...wife, Emma, competed in Track & Field for WWU and played soccer at Highline Community College, and was a multiple national qualifier in Olympic weightlifting.
