COLLEGE: Will miss 2002 season because of torn ACL suffered during spring practice ? Transfer from Iowa State University ? Played in all but two games as true freshman on special teams in 1999 ? Did not compete in 2000 because of knee injury and left school prior to 2001 season.

HIGH SCHOOL: First-team all-London City Conference and all-city both ways as senior at Central Catholic High School in London, Ont. ? Helped Crusaders to city championship game ? Had 1,430 all-purpose yards and 12 touchdowns, credited with 81 tackles and intercepted 8 passes ? Offensive MVP and special teams MVP ? As junior, earned first-team all-Provincial honors as wide receiver and first-team all-league both ways at Notre Dame Regional Secondary School in Vancouver, B.C. ? Finished with 1,075 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns, credited wityh 76 tackles and intercepted 6 passes ? Team MVP ? Started and lettered two years in football ? Also earned four letters in basketball and two in track, reaching provincial championships in 100-meter dash.

PERSONAL: Major is education ? His stepfather, Butts Giraud, is member of Western[apos]s Athletic Hall of Fame, being an All-America defensive tackle in football for Vikings in late 1960s and playing professionally for Winnipeg Blue Bombers in Canadian Football League ? His grandfather, John Potter, is member of Manitoba Football Hall of Fame ? His sister, Dana, was all-conference rower at Washington State University.
