Biography

Junior (2024):
  • All-GNAC Honorable Mention.
  • CSC Academic All-District selection.
  • GNAC All-Academic selection for the second time in his career.
  • Appeared in all 18 games for the Vikings, starting in 14 for a total of 1,096 minutes played.
  • Scored two goals, including the game-winner against Cal State Dom. Hills (9/14) and a late game-tying goal against Seattle Pacific (10/5).
  • Tied a career-high with five assists from the wing, four of which set up game-winning goals.
  • His nine points were tied for third most on the Vikings.
  • Top-10 in the GNAC in both shots (31) and shots on goal (15).

Sophomore (2023):
  • First Team All-GNAC.
  • All-West Region United Soccer Coaches (3rd Team).
  • GNAC All-Academic.
  • Appeared in all 18 games for the Vikings, starting in 17 for a career high 1,112 minutes played.
  • Scored a team-leading five goals and provided two assists for 12 total points, most on the team and 10th in the GNAC.
  • Led the team in shots with 42 (t-4th in GNAC) and in shots on goal with 18. 
  • Scored five goals in first six games of the season for an average of 1.44 goals per 90 minutes from 8/31 to 9/16.
  • GNAC player of the week for Sept. 11-17 after scoring three goals in two games across back-to-back home wins vs. Colorado School of Mines (9/14) and Regis (9/16).
Freshman (2022):

  • Unanimous First Team All-GNAC selection.
  • Unanimous All-West Region award winner (D2CCA - 1st, USC - 2nd).
  • Started in 18 of 19 games at the striker position
  • Led the GNAC with nine goals and 23 total points
  • Tied for fourth in the GNAC and first on the team with five assists
  • Scored a pair of braces against Saint Martin's (9/22) and Montana State Billings (11/5)
  • Tied for the GNAC lead with three game-winning goals.

Prior to WWU: Jonsson is a winger that can also play in the middle that hails from Skellefteå, Sweden ... was named the Player of the Year at his academy in 2018 ... former ice hockey player where he was a goalkeeper.
