Courtney Moeller Enters 2nd season as WWU's head coach having joined on September 1, 2024 after serving nine seasons as Western's top assistant coach ... heading into her 12th season coaching at WWU after joining the coaching staff in 2015 ... recently served as the program director for Whatcom Rowing Association ... in her first season a the helm of the program the Vikings placed 3rd at nationals with the Varsity 8+ earning a sliver medal and the Varisty 4+ placing 4th ... helped lead WWU to the 2024 and 2017 NCAA Division II Team National Championship and nationals appearances in seven of nine seasons ... Vikings won the Varsity 8+ gold medal at the 2022 and 2024 WIRA and GNAC Championships ... Member of the 2017 Pocock/CRCA Division II Staff of the Year and instrumental part of the national champion Fours ... Helped coach Vikings to runner-up team finish at NCAA National Championships in 2018 with Fours winning national title ... Also helped coach Vikings to a 3rd-place finish at NCAA National Championships in 2019 and 2016 ... Has coached four CRCA All-Americans ... instrumental in program's fundraising along with expanding social media presence ... Coached previous 10 years, two as operations manager of Renton Rowing Center, a community boathouse of the George Pocock Rowing Foundation, following eight as program director and junior women's coach for Sammamish Rowing Association ... In 2014, as junior women's coach at PRC, her first novice eight, second novice eight and novice four all placed first at Northwest Junior Regionals ... While at SRA, her teams captured points trophy championships at Brentwood Regatta four straight years (2008-11) ... Her varsity eight was victorious at Brentwood Regatta, Opening Day Regatta and Northwest Junior Regionals in both 2010 and 2011 ... Her crews made appearances at U.S. Rowing Youth National Championships from 2008 to 2012, including fifth place finish by lightweight eight in 2009 and sixth place finish by varsity eight in 2010 ... Member of WWU's first NCAA Division II national championship team in 2005 as stroke of varsity four ... Also member of Viking team that placed third at nationals in 2004 ...
