Chris Leverenz enters her fifth season with the Western Washington University Vikings, serving as a Program Assistant after spending the past five years as a dedicated volunteer assistant with the Vikings. Leverenz brings more than 35 years of coaching experience across multiple levels of the sport, offering technical knowledge and a steady, athlete-centered presence within the program.
Before joining WWU, Leverenz built a successful high school program during her tenure as head coach at Auburn Riverside High School (1995-2017). Under her leadership, the Ravens captured three WIAA state Championships in 2013, 2016 and 2017, earning a reputation for disciplined play, strong team culture, and consistent postseason performance. In recognition of her successful career, she was inducted into the WIAA Coaches Hall of Fame in 2014.Â
Leverenz holds a bachelor’s degree from Washington State University in Physical Education and Psychology, and later earned her master’s degree in Administration from the University of Phoenix.
Chris is excited to join a long-standing, successful, tradition-rich, and highly successful WWU program.
