Kansas City, MO - Western Washington University Athletics agreed to a multi-year partnership with Career Athletes in June 2010 as the first Great Northwest Atlantic Conference school partner. The partnership provides a national representation of unique career development resources for Western Washington University current and alumni athletes.
Career Athletes provides Western Washington Athletics the unique ability to enhance fundraising and recruiting efforts while securing thousands of meaningful career opportunities for alumni athletes nationwide. This Online Career Community Network will provide benefits such as mentoring, professional networking, virtual career coaching and 12 years of best practices from the leading and largest career services organization assisting athletes, athletic departments and campus career centers.
The Western Washington University "Community Network" consists of current and alumni athletes from the institution as well as local, regional and national employers all managed and monitored by Career Athletes at its home office in the Kansas City area.

Western Washington is no stranger to success as indicated by additional achievements during the 2009-2010 academic year:
·Fifty-one student-athletes earned Great Northwest Athletic Conference Academic All-Star honors
·Western Washington University won its sixth Great Northwest Athletic Conference All-Sports championship, taking the league titles in men's cross country, men's outdoor track and men's golf.
·Five rowers were named Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association National Scholar-Athletes
·Seven indoor track athletes named U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association National Scholar Athletes
·The women's rowing team won its sixth straight Division II national title in the spring 2010.
