LITCHFIELD, Ari. - Western Washington University is 14th, 30 strokes behind the leader, following first-day action Monday at the Grand Canyon University Women's Golf Spring Invitational being held at the Wigwam Golf Club Gold course.
Tuesday's final round begins at 7 a.m.
The Vikings shot 335 with no player shooting better than 82. St. Edward's TX leads at 305, five strokes in front of second-place and host Grand Canyon.
WWU was led by Kara Zitzman (Sr., Woodinville/Redmond), who shot 10-over par 82 and is tied for 33rd. Claire Rachor (Sr., Bellingham) is tied for 39th after shooting 83.
The Vikings' Emily Koryto (R-Fr., East Lansing, MI) and Kristen Hansen (Fr., Spokane/Mead) each shot 85 and are tied for 57th, and Anna Bourland (So., Bainbridge) carded an 88 and is tied for 71st.
The medalist leader is St. Edward's Ryanne Haddow, who fired a 2-under par 70 and leads by four strokes. Tied for second at 2-over 74 are Grand Canyon's Eryn Olson and Sonoma State's Spencer Heller.
