LITCHFIELD, Ari. - Western Washington University placed 14th among 18 teams at the Grand Canyon University Women's Golf Spring Invitational which concluded Tuesday at the Wigwam Golf Club Gold course.
The Vikings shot 331 for a 36-hole total of 666. Host Grand Canyon (309=619) overcame a five-stroke, first-round deficit to win by nine shots over runner-up St. Edward's TX (323=628).
WWU's Claire Rachor (Sr., Bellingham) shot 79 and climbed 13 places to finish in a four-way tie for 26th at 162, and Kara Zitzman (Sr., Woodinville/Redmond) tied for 40th at 165 (83).
Two Viking players tied for 62nd at 171, Anna Bourland (So., Bainbridge) (83) and Kristen Hansen (Fr., Spokane/Mead) (86); and Emily Koryto (R-Fr., East Lansing, MI) placed 72nd at 176 (91).
Grand Canyon's Eryn Olson took medalist honors at 4-over par 148, one shot better than Arrianna Estrada from Western New Mexico.
