ROHNERT PARK, Calif. - The Western Washington University Women's Golf team is in 4th place after the first round of the 2015 Sonoma State Fall Invitational played Monday on the North Course of Foxtail Golf Club.
The Vikings combined to shoot 315 for the day, 27-over-par on the 5,982-yard par 72 course. Host Sonoma State leads the 13-entry field after carding a combined 20-over 308.
Senior Kristen Hansen (Spokane, WA/Mead) ended the round 1 tied for 6th in medalist play, turning in a 5-over-par 77. Four of the five Viking entries are in the top 20, including Stephanie Sewell (Fr., Kent, WA/Kentridge) and Jenn Paul (So., Bellingham, WA) who are tied for 13th after a 7-over 79.
The Vikings close out the fall portion of their schedule tomorrow with the second round of the Sonoma State Fall Invitational.
