BELLINGHAM, Wash. -- Deandre Dickson recorded a double-double with 24 points and 16 rebounds to lead the Blue squad to an 84-67 victory over the White squad in the annual Western Washington University Blue-White Scrimmage played Saturday at the Wade King Recreation Center on the WWU campus.

Dickson (Easton, CA/Washington Union/Bakersfield College) led four players in double-figures for the blue squad, shooting 10-for-20 from the field. He also totaled 5 blocks and 3 steals.

Redshirt freshman Daulton Hommes (Lynden, WA/Lynden Christian) added 23 points on 8-for-11 shooting and just missed the double-double with 9 boards. Trevor Jasinsky (RS Fr., Camas, WA) added 10 points and 4 assists and Blake Fernandez (Jr., Mountlake Terrace, WA) scored 15 points.

The white squad was led by a game-high 28 points by redshirt senior point guard Taylor Stafford (Chicago, IL/Evansville). Stafford also contributed 4 steals and 7 rebounds while playing all 40 minutes. Sophomore Trey Drechsel (Woodinville, WA/Cedar Park Christian) scored 17 points (3-for-6 3 pointers).

"I thought it was a very competitive game. Where we are at in our season, with the limited amount of practice time, we are very encouraged about our level of intensity and execution," said head coach Tony Dominguez.

The Vikings will play two more exhibition games hosting Capilano (Nov. 1, 7 pm at Whatcom Community College) and traveling to Seattle to face the University of Washington (Nov. 3, 7 pm). The annual Viking Jam will be held on campus at the WWU Rec Center on Wednesday, November 26 starting at 7 pm (pre-event festivities starting at 6 pm).
