OLYMPIA, Wash. - The Western Washington University women's golf team finished in 5th place at the rain-shortened Saint Martin's Invitational played Friday and Saturday at Olympia Golf & Country Club.
Saturday's final round was shortened to 9 holes with the rainy weather that covered the Puget Sound area. The Vikings top four scorers combined for a 22-over-par 166 on today's par 36 front nine. Simon Fraser took home team medalist honors.
Sophomore Stephanie Sewell (Kent, WA/Kentridge) was the highest placing WWU player in a tie for 4th place at 10-over-par. Junior Jenn Paul (Bellingham, WA) was tied for 12th in the 65-player field.
The Vikings return to Bellingham to host the WWU Invitational Monday and Tuesday at Bellingham Golf & Country Club.
