DEXTER LAKE, Ore. - The Western Washington University women's rowing squad dominated the water winning six of eight races at the 2016 Collegiate Covered Bridge Regatta on Dexter Lake south of Eugene, Oregon.

Western's Varsity 8, Varsity 4 and Novice 4 teams swept their events, while the 2nd Varsity 8 finished 2nd in both of their races.

"Today went really well and the team competed exceptionally well," said 18th-year head coach John Fuchs. "A good day all around against really good competition."

The Vikings are ranked No. 5 in the recent NCAA Division II CRCA/USRowing Coaches Poll - presented by Pocock Racing Shells and hold the top spot in the NCAA II Regional Rankings (V8 - 1st, V4 - 2nd, Team - 1st).

The Vikings will take next week off and then host South Region foe Central Oklahoma and Seattle Pacific on Saturday, April 23 for the Viking Regatta on Lake Samish in Bellingham.
