VALLEY CENTER , Calif. – The Western Washington University women's golf team finished in 8th place to conclude the fall season at the Cal State San Marcos Fall Classic on Tuesday at Woods Valley Golf Club.
 
The Vikings recorded matching rounds of 30-over-par 318 in the 36-hole tournament, finishing with a team score of 60-over-par 636. Tournament host Cal State San Marcos ran away with the team title recording a 34-stroke victory finishing with a 7-under-par 569. Simon Fraser was 2^nd at +9 (603) and Sonoma State, Victoria and Point Loma tied for 3^rd at +35 (611).
 
WWU junior Lacy Sheldon (Dallas, TX/Legacy Christian/Montevallo) led the Vikings tying for 24^th place in the 66-player field. Sheldon recorded a final round 5-over-par 77 to finish the two-day tournament at 13-over-par 157.
 
The Vikings had four golfers inside the 35 in the tournament, with senior Nicole Miller (Renton, WA/Kennedy Catholic/North Idaho College) placing 31^st at 16-over-par 160. Senior Hannah Drake (Pocatello, ID/Century) and junior Brianna Esvelt (Kennewick, WA/Kamiakin/Columbia Basin College) tied for 32^nd at 17-over-par 161.
 
Cal State San Marcos featured the top three individuals in the tournament, with Jamie Jacob winning medalist honors at 9-under-par 135 firing rounds of 69 (-3) and 66 (-6).
