Results (PDF)

NAMPA, Idaho - Senior Jasmine McMullin won the long jump to highlight the first day of action as the Western Washington University track & field program opened competition at the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Indoor Championships on Friday, hosted at the Jacksons Indoor Center.

At the conclusion of Friday's competition, the WWU women are 4th with 41 points while the WWU men are 6th with 17 points. The two-day meet resumes Saturday morning with field events starting at 9 am PT/10 am MT and running events beginning at 10:25 am PT/11:25 am MT.

McMullin (Sequim, WA) had a leap of 5.73m (18-9 ¾) on her second attempt to earn the long jump title and total 10 points toward the women's team score. The effort was an indoor personal-best and NCAA Division II provisional-qualifying mark ranking No. 3 on the WWU top-10 list. Her previous personal-best was 5.48m (17-11 ¾) at the 2016 GNAC Indoor Championships when she finished 4th.

Following Friday, McMullin has provisional-qualifying marks in two events during the season after recording a provisional-qualifying effort in the triple jump (12.00m, 39-4 ½) at the season-opening UW Preview. A two-time GNAC indoor triple jump in 2015 and 2016, she is set to compete in the triple jump on Saturday. Friday's long jump title was the fifth individual GNAC title for McMullin (indoor and outdoor), and first in the long jump.

In addition to McMullin's 10 points in the long jump, the WWU women totaled 20 of their 41 points in the pole vault on Friday with five WWU competitors among the top 8.
