The WWU men's basketball team (18-10, 13-7 GNAC) opens postseason play as the No. 2 seed in the 2020 GNAC Men's Basketball Championships in Seattle. The Vikings earned a quarterfinal bye and will play the winner of No. 3 Western Oregon vs. No. 6 Alaska Fairbanks in the semifinal Friday at noon in Royal Brougham Pavilion.

The Vikings are 18-10 overall and finished in a tie for 2nd place in the GNAC with an 13-7 league record. Season resume was bolstered by a 7-2 record in the month of January, including an 8-game winning streak. WWU went 13-3 in Carver Gym this season (9-1 in GNAC play) and are 5-7 on the road (4-6 in GNAC). The Vikings enter the postseason having won 4 of 5 and 5 of last 7 games.

This marks the Vikings ninth trip to the conference tournament since the first season of the event in 2011. WWU is 7-7 all-time in the GNAC Championships, winning the tournament in 2017 with a 71-69 victory over Western Oregon.

JASINSKY TWO-TIME ALL-GNAC SELECTION
Trevor Jasinsky is the sixth WWU player in the 19-year history of the Great Northwest Athletic Conference to be a two-time First Team All-GNAC selection. He joins Mike Palm (2002-03), Grant Dykstra (2005-06), Ira Graham (2008-09), Morris Anderson (2009-10) and Jeffrey Parker (2016-17).

Jasinsky is 9th all-time with 1,479 points and 7th with 580 rebounds. WWU reached the 1,500 wins mark in program history with a 126-72 win over Capilano on December 15, 2019. According to the NCAA record book, WWU is the 12th program currently at the NCAA Division II level that has recorded at least 1,500 wins (currently 1,512 all-time wins).

Senior guard Siaan Rojas recorded a career-high 10 assists as part of a 13-point, 10-assist double-double vs. Alaska Fairbanks on Feb. 6. One of nine double-digit assist performances in the GNAC this season and the first by a Viking since Trey Drechsel vs. Douglas on Nov. 15, 2017. Also marked the first double-digit assist performance by a WWU player in GNAC play since Ricardo Maxwell vs. Simon Fraser on Dec. 15, 2015.

SCHILDER NEARS TRIPLE-DOUBLE
Senior center Logan Schilder nearly recorded the third triple-double in program history on Feb. 8 vs. Alaska Anchorage. Schilder scored 17 points (5-9 FG, 6-6 FT), grabbed 15 rebounds and recorded a career-high 8 blocked shots. He fell one block short of the WWU single-game record of 9 set by Ed Briggs in 1989 and was two short of the first triple-double by a Viking since Austin Bragg in 2014.

The Vikings were selected as the GNAC Team of the Week following the two road wins in Alaska. WWU became the second program in the 19-year history of the GNAC to record a third consecutive road sweep of the Alaskan schools, and has now recorded seven road sweeps of UAA and UAF in program history, tying Seattle Pacific for the most in league history.

The Vikings finished 13-3 in Carver Gym this season, continuing the success in the on-campus venue from over the years. WWU owns an all-time record of 577-173 (.796) in Carver Gym, with head coach Tony Dominguez leading the Vikings to a 76-16 record.

Head coach Tony Dominguez is in his eighth season at the helm of the program, and 25th overall at WWU. Dominguez has led the Vikings to a 166-76 record (.686) and was the 2016-17 GNAC Coach of the Year. He is assisted by David Dunham (4th season), Bob Hofstetter (7th season), Atiavo Jude (7th season) and Director of Basketball Operations Jonathan Kim.
