WWU guard averaged 15.5 points and 5.0 rebounds per game in pair of victories

.sidearm-table tbody tr th {text-align: center !important;} BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Western Washington University guard Mollie Olson has been selected as the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played February 22-28.
 
Olson, a junior from Napavine, averaged 15.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game as the Vikings opened the 2020-21 season with a pair of victories over Saint Martin's University.
 
In the season-opening 58-54 win Friday on the road in Lacey, Olson scored a career-high 17 points on 6-for-11 shooting and was also 3-for-4 from the free throw line. She also grabbed 5 rebounds and had a pair of assists.
 
In Saturday's home opener, Olson added 14 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in the 83-74 victory.

The Vikings return to action this week with a home-and-home series vs. Seattle Pacific University. WWU hosts SPU Friday night, and then travels to play inside Royal Brougham Pavilion on Saturday.
