Vikings won the GNAC Championships and Qualified for NCAA Championships

Battled through a shortened spring season due to the COVID-19 pandemic to win the GNAC Championships and qualify for the NCAA Division II Golf Championships…won the sixth GNAC title in program history, returning to the top of the podium after winning five straight championships from 2011-15…advanced to the NCAA Championships for the 11th time in program history and first since 2016…placed 9th out of nine teams at the NCAA II West Regional in Denton, Texas…paced the GNAC with a team scoring average of 320.4…swept the GNAC all-conference awards with four first-team selections…Elise Sumner led the GNAC with a 79.5 scoring average and was selected as the conference Player of the Year…Dani Bailey was selected as the Freshman of the Year and First Team All-GNAC…Sophia Schmidt and Sarah Shea also earned first-team honors and Kolby Heggenes was the Newcomer of the Year…Sumner (79.46), Bailey (80.46) and Shea (81.00) had the three-lowest scoring averages in the GNAC…won the WWU Spring Invitational with a 13-stroke advantage over Northwest Nazarene, led by individual medalist honors by Schmidt…captured the GNAC title with a two-round score of 627 (+51) at The Home Course for an 11-stroke win over NNU…led by two awards for Sumner, a WWU golfer was selected as GNAC Golfer of the Week in four of six weeks during the shortened season…head coach Luke Bennett was selected as the GNAC Coach of the Year.
