Vikings Downed by MSUB in Home Finale

Jalen Green leads WWU with 16 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals and a blocked shot

BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Montana State Billings got off to a quick start that included an early 22-0 scoring run and never looked back in an 91-64 victory over Western Washington University Monday evening in Great Northwest Athletic Conference action on WECU Court in Carver Gym.
 
WWU dropped its third consecutive game to fall to 12-11 overall and 5-8 in GNAC play, concluding the home schedule with a 10-5 mark in Carver Gym. MSUB improved to 12-11 overall and 8-5 in conference play to move into a three-way tie at the top of the standings with Central Washington and Saint Martin's.
 
WWU was led by 16 points from junior guard/forward Jalen Green, who went 5-for-11 shooting and contributed four rebounds, three assists, three steals and a blocked shot. Senior forward Luke Lovelady added 11 points on 5-for-8 shooting in 13 minutes and freshman guard Kai Johnson tallied 10 points and three assists.
 
MSUB was paced by a game-high 28 points by Carrington Wiggins on a near perfect 11-for-12 night shooting and 20 points from by Damen Thacker. Bilal Shabazz added 12 points, six assists and three steals and recorded an 11-point, 10-rebound double-double. MSUB combined to shoot a season-high 60.0% (30-for-50) and were 10-for-20 from three-point range.
