BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Western Washington University head women's soccer coach Travis Connell has announced the sixth addition to the 2022 recruiting class with forward Claire Potter joining the Vikings for the upcoming fall season.
 
Potter is a native of Pasco, Washington, attending Tri-Cities Prep and playing for Pasco High School. During her high school career she was a four-time Pasco High Golden Boot Award winner as the team's leading scorer, a two-time team MVP (2019, 2020) and a two-time Mid-Columbia Conference All-League selection.
 
"Claire is a great athlete with a competitive drive to win," said Connell. "She is an attacking player that can score goals in many different ways. Her team first attitude and work ethic exemplify our team's 'Work hard, Dream Big' mentality."
 
Potter is also a product of the Three Rivers Soccer Club in the Tri-Cities. Her father, Matt, was a collegiate player at Seattle University and a former assistant men's soccer coach at WWU in the late 90s.
 
"I am so excited and grateful for the opportunity to continue my education and soccer career next year at WWU," said Potter. " I am looking forward to being a part of a great program with an amazing coaching staff, and teammates who share my love for soccer. I can't wait to see what my future at WWU holds."
