BELLINGHAM, Wash. – The Western Washington University women's soccer program has bolstered the roster for the 2022 season with the addition of three new players.
Head coach
Travis Connell has announced three new players to the recruiting class that now consists of nine players that are set to debut for the Vikings in 2022.
The new signees includes a pair of junior college transfers from Washington and a high school forward from Oregon.
"These three players all bring a unique and talented skillset to our program, that join a very dynamic recruiting class," said
Connell. "We are excited to have them join our program and looking forward to all of them getting out on Harrington Field in August.
The nine-player recruiting class now features five forwards, three defenders and one midfielder.
Here is a look WWU's nine players that have formed the recruiting class that is scheduled to debut for the Vikings during the fall 2022 season:

MYKA CARR » Forward » Newcastle, WA » Liberty High School » Highline College
Carr is a transfer from Highlight College in Des Moines that will have two years of eligibility remaining when she arrives in Bellingham. Carr was a NWAC West All-Star at Highline in 2021 scoring six goals and recording four assists in 15 games (13 starts). She helped Highline advance to the NWAC semifinals finishing with a 12-3-1 record. She tied for 19th in the NWAC with 16 points. A product of Liberty High School and Eastside FC, Carr was a three-time KingCo first-team selection and a two-time state champion. Her older sister, Makenna, played at the University of Washington.
Connell on Carr:
"Myka is an exciting attacking player that brings college experience from a winning school to our program. She is clean on the ball and will surprise opponents with her pace and ability to change directions at top speed."
Carr on joining the WWU program:

KASCIA MUSCUTT » Defender » Leavenworth, WA » Cascade High School » Peninsula College
Muscutt is a transfer from Peninsula College in Port Angeles that will be entering her junior year of eligibility in the fall. The defender is a product of Cascade High School in Leavenworth and played club for Wenatchee FC and on the Washington EPD team. Muscutt was a three-time First Team All-league selection during high school and earned all-state honors as a sophomore. She competed in the state playoffs three times, earning a pair of runner-up honors. She was also a standout on the track team running the 800m and 4x400 at the state meet. At Peninsula she was selected to the North Region All-Star Team and helped the Pirates to the NWAC Championship with a 14-0-1 record.
Connell on Muscutt:
"Kascia is a winner! She is an incredibly versatile player who possesses athleticism that matches her will to help her team win. She will add valuable college playing experience to our roster."
Muscutt on joining the WWU program:
"I chose to join the WWU program because of the success that comes out of the program and because the coaches and players are all amazing at what they do. I know that this is a great place to both pursue what I want academically and play the game I love. Plus, it's a bonus that Bellingham is such a beautiful place to live."

Rice joins the WWU program as a freshman forward out of Beaverton High School in Portland. Here prep career was highlighted by being selected as the Metro League Player of the Year in 2021. She helped lead her high school team to the 6A State Championship game going 15-3-1. Rice was also a varsity member of the basketball and track teams at Beaverton High School.

"Emily is a fantastic athlete that has an unbelievable drive to compete. She is versatile enough to play multiple positions and will add great depth and flexibility to our team right away as a freshman."
Rice on joining the WWU program:
"I am so excited to be joining the team next year. After visiting WWU and seeing the amazing connection of the team on and off the field, and everything the coaches and staff do to help you succeed in every aspect athletically and academically I knew it was something I wanted to be part of.
