Manalili Earns Player of the Year to Headline All-Region Selections

Vikings have five players earn a spot on the D2CCA All-West Region Team

BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Western Washington University forward Morgan Manalili had a historic senior season and was rewarded being selected as the D2 CCA West Region Player of the Year.
 
Manalili was one of five Vikings to earn a spot on the All-West Region team, with the senior becoming a four-time selection to the team in her career with three first-team awards (2022, 2023, 2025) and one second-team honor (2024). She is the first Viking and the fifth GNAC student-athlete to earn the D2CCA West Region Player of the Year award.
 
Senior midfielder Claire Potter and senior defender Asia Hardin joined Manalili on the first team. Junior midfielder Mie Cairns and senior defender Emily Rice were second team honorees. WWU's five selections were the most on the 26-team all-region team, followed by four from Cal Poly Pomona.
 
2025 D2CCA All-West Region Selections: Manalili added the West Region Player of the Year award to her GNAC Player of the Year honor with her historic senior season. The forward contributed on 25 of the Vikings 48 goals, leading the region and currently tied for fourth in NCAA Division II with 17 goals and among the regional leaders with eight assists. Manalili recorded 42 total points to rank 3rd in WWU single-season history, the most since Western Hall of Famer Annette Duvall had 64 in 1983 and 62 in 1982. A well-rounded student-athlete Manalili also earned GNAC and CSC All-District academic awards.
 
Potter was a first-team selection during her senior season starting all 22 games. She ranked second on the team with eight goals and contributed five assists for 21 total points. Potter was also a First Team All-GNAC selection, in addition to earning GNAC and CSC All-District Academic honors.
 
Hardin became a three-time All-West Region selection earning her second consecutive first-team award. The First Team All-GNAC defender played every minute of the Vikings 22 games, leading the backline to a 0.71 goals against average that ranks in the top 10 in the region. Hardin is another standout student-athlete earning GNAC and All-District academic honors.
 
Cairns started 21 of 22 games in the midfield, scoring four goals with one assist for nine points. Cairns repeated as a second-team all-region selection and was a First Team All-GNAC pick.
 
Rice rounded out the Vikings all-region selections as a second-team pick as one of the top assist producers in the region. The senior defender contributed nine assists to rank in the top 20 in the nation, with most coming on set pieces as a free kick and corner kick specialist.
