BELLINGHAM, Wash. – The Western Washington University women's basketball team won its fourth consecutive game completing a 2-0 weekend in the Lynda Goodrich Classic with a 76-59 victory over San Francisco State.
WWU extended its winning streak to improve to 7-2 on the season with the 17-point victory over the Gators on WECU Court in Carver Gym, a day after defeating previously unbeaten University of Mary 72-63 on Friday. Central Washington also went 2-0 during the Goodrich Classic completing a perfect weekend by the two GNAC programs.
The Vikings shot 50.0-percent in the game (29-for-58), held a lopsided 46-18 advantage in rebounding and recorded a season-high nine blocked shots.
Senior forward Olivia Hodges and junior guard Demi Dykstra and Libby Stumpwere selected to the eight-player all-tournament team.
Dykstra led the Vikings in Saturday's game with 21 points on 8-for-16 shooting with five three-pointers, four rebounds, four assists, three steals and a pair of blocked shots.
Hodges continued her dominating early-season play with her seventh double-double in nine games, scoring 19 points on 8-for-11 shooting with 13 rebounds. The senior transfer has recorded five consecutive games with double-digits in rebounds and is averaging 17.6 points and 12.8 rebounds per game this season.
Junior guard Joy Haltom recorded her second double-digit scoring game with 12 points on 4-for-8 shooting. Stump scored nine points and dished out a team-best five assists in 23 minutes.
The Vikings held a 42-36 halftime lead, but pulled away opening the third quarter on a 19-3 run. WWU led by as many as 22 points in the game and never trailed during the two-day tournament opening the home portion of the 2025-26 schedule.
SFSU (2-4) was led by 21 points by guard Leilani Blecha, who shot 7-for-15 from the field with six three-pointers.
