Libby Stump opened the 2025-26 season by earning the GNAC Player of the Week award.
Stump helped lead the Vikings to a 2-1 start to the season at the D2 Canadian Tip-Off Classic, averaging 20.3 points and 3.3 steals per game while playing 36.3 minutes per contest.
In Saturday's 69-64 win over Minot State, Stump scored a career-high 33 points on 14-for-29 shooting, tying for the 12th-most points in a single game in program history. In the season opener against No. 21 Colorado Mesa Stump poured in 22 points while adding six steals, five assists and four rebounds.
"Libby had just a great weekend. She was injured last year, so she saw very limited minutes. This year she's a lot healthier and able to play more of her game," said WWU head coach
Carmen Dolfo. "The great thing about Libby is not only can she score, but she really excels at both ends of the floor. She is also a great leader for us."
The Vikings are back in action Saturday with their Alumni game at 5 pm in Carver Gym, with free admission offered for all fans. WWU returns to regular-season action November 14-15 at the SPU Falcon Classic playing West Region foes Cal State Dominguez Hills and Cal State LA.
