BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Junior guard Libby Stump and senior forward Olivia Hodges were selected to the Great Western Shootout All-Tournament Team.
The Viking duo led Western to a 1-1 record in the two-day tournament held in North Las Vegas, Nevada at the College of Southern Nevada. WWU defeated Eastern New Mexico 44-40 on Friday to extend its winning streak to seven consecutive games and dropped the tournament finale in overtime to New Mexico Highlands 71-68.
Stump averaged 11.5 points and 8.0 rebounds per game, scoring 23 total points in the tournament while dishing out six assists and recording four steals. Stump was close to a double-double against ENMU scoring nine points while grabbing a career-high 10 rebounds. She added 14 points, six rebounds and four steals vs. NMHU.
Hodges continued her stellar senior season averaging 13.0 points and 14.0 rebounds per game. Hodges narrowly had her seven-game double-double streak snapped with nine points and 16 rebounds vs. ENMU and gained her nation-leading 10th double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds against NMHU.
New Mexico Highlands guard Kapiolani Anitielu earned tournament MVP honors averaging 23.0 points while shooting 21-for-40 (.525) in two games.
