BELLINGHAM, Wash. – For the second time this season Western Washington University senior forward Olivia Hodges has been selected the GNAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week.

Hodges (Pasadena, CA) recorded a pair of double-doubles to open conference play in road wins over Montana State Billings and Seattle Pacific. Hodges recorded a 29-point, 10-rebound double-double on 10-for-17 shooting vs. the Yellowjackets and followed with a 21-point, 17-rebound performance against the Falcons. Hodges combined to go 17-for-35 from the field and 16-for-21 from the free throw line.

Hodges has recorded a double-double in nine of the Vikings 11 games, with seven consecutive games with double-digits in points and rebounds. She is averaging 13.4 rebounds per game to rank fourth nationally and is among the GNAC leaders scoring 18.9 points per game.

"Olivia continues to dominate the boards and works so hard in finding a way to score," said WWU head coach Carmen Dolfo. "The team does a great job in getting her the ball. She is also very committed on the defensive end of the court. Olivia is such a great teammate and is a pleasure to coach. She is a force."

The Vikings are 9-2 overall with a current six-game winning streak, and 2-0 in GNAC play heading into finals week. WWU returns to action December 19-20 with a pair of games at the Great Western Shootout in Las Vegas (hosted by WWU). The Vikings face Eastern New Mexico and New Mexico Highlands in the two-day tournament held at the College of Southern Nevada. More information on the tournament can be found at WWUVikings.com.
