BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Western Washington University freshman
Evin Ford has been selected as the GNAC Track Athlete of the Week.
Ford (Yakima, WA/East Valley HS) had a strong all-around week for the Vikings at the UW Invitational, contributing both individually and as a member of the Vikings relay unit. Ford placed 5th in the 200m race with a personal-best time of 21.94 to rank No. 4 in WWU indoor history. The time is 7th-best in the GNAC this season.
Ford also ran the opening leg of the 4x400 relay that set the WWU indoor record and is 3rd-fastest in GNAC history. Ford combined with twin brother Isaac, senior

Maurice Woodring to clock 3:13.10 to achieve an NCAA provisional qualifying mark that currently ranks No. 11 in the nation for NCAA Division II.
During his freshman campaign, Ford has also achieved the 5th-best 400m time in indoor program history at 49.00 and has a personal best time of 7.07 in the 60m dash.
"Coach Dena Birade and I have been really impressed with Evin's attitude and effort," said WWU Track & Field head coach
Ben Stensland. "His freshman year has gotten off to a really great start and we are all really looking forward to seeing how he progresses."
The Vikings continue the indoor season with the final regular-season meet February 14-15 at the Husky Classic and will then defend their men's and women's team titles at the GNAC Indoor Championships February 17-18 at The Podium in Spokane. The complete 2025 schedule is available online at
