BELLINGHAM, Wash. – The Western Washington University women's basketball team closed out its preseason exhibition schedule with a 73-54 victory over Trinity Western University Wednesday evening on WECU Court in Carver Gym.
The Vikings out-scored the Spartans 22-7 in the fourth quarter, and 30-18 in the second half to record the 19-point victory. The exhibition game does not count towards the season record for both teams and game statistics are unofficial.
WWU featured five players scoring in double-digits, led by 17 points on 7-for-13 shooting from guard Libby Stump and an 11-point, 10-rebound double-double by junior forward Rachel Roderick. Forward Vivienne Berrett (11 points) and guards Annalee Coronado and Joy Haltom (10 points each) also scored in double figures.
The Vikings played three preseason games – all in the last week – including closed-door scrimmages at the University of Portland and Portland State University.
