BELLINGHAM, Wash. – The Western Washington University men's soccer team had its undefeated home record snapped up in a 4-1 loss Saturday afternoon to rival Seattle Pacific University at Harrington Field.

The Falcons jumped out to a 2-0 first-half lead and added two more goals to build a four-goal cushion prior to the Vikings scoring in the final moments of the game.

WWU entered the contest with a 4-0-1 record in home games at Harrington Field but dropped the GNAC contest to the Falcons who were ranked as high as No. 2 in the nation earlier this season. The Vikings dropped to 6-4-2 overall and 1-2-1 (4 points in GNAC play). SPU improved to 8-2-1 overall and 1-1-1 in conference games.

The Falcons found the opener in the 20th minute after controlling the early part of the game on a goal by David Ochoa at the 19:48 mark. Marcos Bravo doubled the lead to 2-0 in the 36th minute with an assist from Brady Reed.

SPU played add-on in the second half on a penalty kick goal by Bellingham native Judah Straight and capped the scoring spree in the 76th minute on a great individual effort from Cooper Schneider.

The Vikings lone goal came in the 88th minute (87:16) when junior Lunden Fenster stole the ball from a defender at the top of the 18-yard box and scored with a shot into the bottom right of the goal.

Seattle Pacific held a 21-11 advantage in total shots, including a 6-3 edge in shots on goal.

The Vikings (6-4-2, 1-2-1 GNAC) have one match next week traveling across the border to face Simon Fraser on Thursday (Oct. 8) with kickoff at 5 pm at Terry Fox Field at SFU Stadium. All conference games will stream live on the GNAC Network. The complete 2026 schedule can be viewed online via wwuvikings.com/MSOC.
