ELLENSBURG, Wash. – Powered by three goals from freshman players, the No. 7 nationally ranked Western Washington University women's soccer team earned a 3-0 win at Central Washington University to secure the 2026 GNAC regular-season title.
WWU finished the regular season with a 12-1-1 mark in conference games, clinching the programs third consecutive and 12th overall GNAC title. WWU opened the scoring in the 20th minute to go up 1-0. Triya Mitchell put a shot on target that was smothered and bobbled by the CWU goalkeeper. Madeline Mays collected the loose ball inside the box and lofted a chip shot over the keeper inside the far right post for her team-leading sixth goal of the season.
The Vikings sealed the victory in the 59th minute when Keira Reeves crossed the ball into the box and a CWU player slightly deflected the ball into the back of the net crediting Reeves with her first career goal.
Reeves made the most of her second opportunity in the 81st minute to record the brace, getting on the end of a feed from Mays outside the 18-yard box placing the ball perfectly over the keeper and into the back of the net for her second goal of the game.
Western sophomore goalkeeper Ellie McGowan recorded six saves to set a single-game career high.
WWU held a 17-9 advantage in total shots and 12-6 in shots on goal.
