Preview | Vikings Face MSUB in GNAC Championships Final

The GNAC regular-season champion Western Washington University women's basketball team aims for the conference title sweep on Saturday taking on Montana State Billings in the GNAC Championships Final with tip-off set for 5 pm inside Carver Gym on the WWU campus. The Vikings are 24-6 overall following Friday's semifinal 66-55 victory over Western Oregon. WWU entered the postseason ranked No. 2 in the West Region.
 
Series History vs. MSUB:
WWU earned the regular-season sweep over Montana State Billings, adding the regular-season finale 78-55 victory to a 59-56 three-point win over MSUB on December 3. The Vikings are 33-21 all-time vs. MSUB dating back to the first meeting in 1994-95. Western also leads the recent series 5-3 in the last eight meetings and 11-5 over the last 16 games since the 2018-19 season. WWU's record in home games vs. MSUB is 18-7. Vikings are 5-1 vs. the Yellowjackets in the GNAC Championships, including final-game victories in 2023 (76-71) and 2024 (54-52).
 
GNAC Championships Notes:
WWU has advanced to play in the GNAC Championships in 14 out of 15 tournaments with four titles (2013, 2014, 2023, 2024) and is 21-9 all-time in the tournament. WWU won back-to-back titles in 2023 (in Bellingham) and 2024 (in Ellensburg). WWU has advanced to the tournament championship game 11 times (4-6 record).
