DENVER, Colo. – The No. 14 nationally ranked Western Washington University men's soccer team earned a 1-1 tie against a tough Regis University team Sunday afternoon in non-conference action.

The Vikings are 4-1-1 overall through the first six games of the season, with the two games in Denver (lost 3-1 Thursday to Westminster) opening a six-game road trip. Regis moved to 2-1-2 on the season while playing a top 25 nationally ranked opponent in every game this season.

The Rangers opened the scoring on their home turf in the 12th minute when Liam Corr received a give-and-go off a short corner from Jan Grillitsch and finished just inside the near post on a shot from 17-yards out.

WWU found the equalizer in the 30th minute on a strong solo effort from sophomore midfielder Landon Schulze. Freshman midfielder Noe Garfiasstole the ball near the center of the field that fell to Schulze. The Langley, BC native did the rest, making a run down the sideline to beat his defender, but into upper right corner of the 18-yard box and placed his shot into the lower left corner for his second goal of the weekend and third on the season.

The Vikings defense held Regis off the scoreboard in the second half, despite a barrage of 13 shots over the final 45 minutes of action. Senior goalkeeper Charlie Dyer made three saves in each half to help the Vikings record the tie.

Regis (2-1-2) was coming off a 3-1 victory over nationally ranked Seattle Pacific on Thursday and has faced a nationally-ranked team in each of its five games this season. The Rangers held a 20-4 advantage in total shots and 5-2 in shots on goal.

The Vikings (4-1-1, 0-0-0 GNAC) remain on the road next week traveling to play at St. Edward's in Austin, Texas on Wednesday and Dallas Baptist on Friday, with both games featuring a 7 pm (CT) kickoff. The complete 2026 schedule can be viewed online via wwuvikings.com/MSOC.
