Dominguez recorded his 100th career head coaching victory Jan. 14, 2017 with 84-76 comeback win at Western Oregon, becoming the fastest coach in WWU men's basketball history to reach 100 wins, doing so in 140 games (100-40).

WWU defeated Florida Southern 96-82 in the national quarterfinal to advance to the Final Four, and nearly made a repeat trip to the national title game falling to Drury 107-97 ... the Vikings set a program record opening the season with 24 consecutive wins (also NCAA II record), as part of a school-record 30-game winning streak ... winning percentage of 91.2 was school record and win total tied WWU mark ... was a finalist for the Clarence "Big House" Gaines National Coach of the Year honors and selected as the GNAC co-Coach of the Year.
Led the Vikings to a 41-21 record in the 2015-16 and 2016-17 seasons while the program was moved out of Carver Gym for the extensive two-year renovation ... the team practiced temporary court in the Campus Rec Center and home games were played across town at Whatcom Community College (with a few at Skagit Community College) ... despite the adversity where the normally roudy student section was depleted, the Vikings won the 2016-17 GNAC regular-season (17-3) and tournament titles, and were the No. 3 seed in the NCAA II West Regional.
