Biography

WWU Career: Appeared in 84 games over three seasons at WWU, making 59 starts and averaging 27.0 minutes per game ...  Johnson ranks top-20 with 1,133 points (13.5 points per game), shooting 51.8-percent (400-for-772) from the field and 39.3-percent (70-for-178) from three... The Olympia native also ranks top-20 in program history in both Free throws made and attempted, shooting 73.3-percent (159-for-210) from the charity stripe... just the 28th member of WWU's 1,000 point club, one of just seven members with less than 90 career games ... Not just a pure-scorer, Johnson also averaged 4.2 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.0 steals and 0.7 blocks per game ... 2023-24 season was one of the most prolific scoring seasons in program history, leading the GNAC and placing 12th in NCAA II in scoring, putting up 21.6 points per game, 3rd highest scoring average in program history ... 627 points in 2023-24 ranks 4th in program history, just the 4th 600+ point season by a Viking ... Two-time All-GNAC selection, named to the All-GNAC first team unanimously for the 2023-24 season along with being named First Team All-West Region, just the 10th player in program history to earn that honor ... Key part of Vikings offense that scored 84.2 points per game over his three years, which included two seasons ranking top-20 in program history, 2023-2024 season average of 88.7 PPG was 10th in the nation and 6th in program history.

2023-24 (Junior):
  • Started all 29 games for the Vikings, averaging 33.2 minutes to lead the team and rank 5th in the GNAC.
  • Named to First Team All-West Region, becoming the 10th player in program history to earn the honors.
  • Named unanimous First Team All-GNAC.
  • Earned GNAC Player of the Week honors twice (Nov. 6-12, Jan. 15-21).
  • Led GNAC and placed 12th in NCAA II in scoring, putting up 21.6 points per game. This ties for 3rd all-time in program history for a single season scoring average.
  • Reached double figures in scoring in all 29 games and finished with 19 games with at least 20 points. 
  • Surpassed 1,000 career points in collegiate career, ranking 20th all-time in program history with 1,133 points.
  • Scored 627 points in 2023-24 season, ranking 4th-most in program history for a single season.
  • Led a Vikings offense which was 10th in the nation in scoring at 88.7 points per game.
  • No. 9 in the GNAC with a .522 field goal percentage (213-for-408) and 5th shooting 41.6-percent from three-point range (42-for-101).
  • Also Averaged 4.7 rebounds (2nd on team), 3.5 assists (5th in GNAC), 1.5 steals (6th in GNAC) and 0.9 blocked shots (6th in GNAC) per game.
  • Scored a career-high 36 points against George Fox (12/17), a top-20 mark in program history, going 10-of-16 from the field and 15-of-17 from the free throw line.
2022-23 (Sophomore):
  • Selected Second Team All-GNAC.
  • GNAC Player of the Week for Nov. 21-27, scoring 35 points in wins over Maine Fort Kent (10 points) and Point Loma (25 points, 9-for-9 FG).
  • Started all 28 games at guard during WWU’s 15-13 campaign.
  • Averaged 12.9 points, 5.3 rebounds, 3.0 assists and nearly a block and steal per game.
  • Ranked in the top 20 in the GNAC in assists (7th), rebounds (10th), scoring (11th), field goal percentage (14th, .524/132-for-252), free throw percentage (14th, .681/77-for-113) and blocked shots (15th).
  • Scored career-high 26 points on 12-for-23 shooting at Central Washington (2/18).
  • Recorded 16-point, 10-rebound double-double at Seattle Pacific (2/2).
  • Scored then career-high 25 points on perfect 9-for-9 shooting in road win over Point Loma (11/26).
  • Neared triple-double with 9 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 blocks at Alaska Anchorage (1/12).
2021-22 (Freshman): 
  • Played in 27 and started two during the season. 
  • Averaged 15.5 minutes per game and 5.3 points a game. 
  • Averaged 11.8 points per game in the last four games of the year from 2/19-3/2. 
  • Scored a career high 24 points vs. Northwest Indian College (11/30). 
  • Neared a triple-double with 10 points, 12 rebounds and 8 assists vs. Northwest Indian College (12/12).
  • Was part of WWU program during COVID season in 2020-21.
Prior to WWU: Product of Olympia High School ... helped lead the Bears to a 4th-place finish in the 2020 4A WIAA State Championships ... as a senior scored 514 points, averaging 17.1 points per game while shooting over 55.0% from the field ... senior season totals also included 4.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 3.0 steals per game ... First Team 4A South Puget Sound League honors as a senior and selected to The Olympian All-Area team ... as a junior he was a second-team all-league selection after scoring 296 points.
