CHILLIWACK, B.C. - Ryan Liddiard scored on a free kick in the 34th minute and goalkeeper Mark Village made seven saves in posting a shutout as University of Fraser Valley defeated Western Washington University, 1-0, on Tuesday in a men's soccer exhibition contest at Townsend Park.
It was the Vikings' second of three exhibitions before their regular-season opener. They tied 1-1 at Trinity Western last Saturday.
Against UFV, WWU had a 10-8 shot advantage and five corner kicks to the Cascades' two.
WWU goalkeeper Nico Terentjev (R-Fr., Mercer Island) made five saves.
The Vikings complete their exhibition schedule Friday, Aug. 30 (5 p.m.), playing host to Trinity Lutheran University at Orca Field on the Whatcom CC campus.
