BURNABY, B.C. - The Western Washington University Men's Soccer team completed its 2015 season with a 2-0 loss Saturday evening in foggy and cold conditions in Great Northwest Athletic Conference match at Terry Fox Field.
The Vikings finished the season with a 5-10-3 overall record and were 3-9-2 in GNAC play (7th place). The Clan improved to 10-3-4 overall and finished 2nd in the GNAC with a 9-2-3 record.
The Vikings were shut out for the sixth time this season, as they were out-shot by SFU 25-8.
Simon Fraser scored the only goal they would need at 20:58 when Kyle Jones connected from 25-yards out for his fourth goal of the season. The Clan added an insurance goal at 58:19 on a tap in by Michael North from 6-yards out.
Western junior goalkeeper Tyler Visten (Mount Vernon, WA/Skagit Valley CC) had a busy night with 9 saves on the 25 shots on goal.
